In short
- Genobills is a tool to log and organize your personal finances. You enter all the information yourself.
- We're not a bank or a financial institution: we don't hold or move money, and we don't give financial, tax or investment advice.
- Your information is yours: you can export it and delete your account whenever you want.
- The Service is free today. If we ever add paid features, we'll tell you first and never charge you without your express agreement.
1. Acceptance
These Terms and conditions (the “Terms”) govern the use of the Genobills website, web app and mobile apps (the “Service”), offered by [TO COMPLETE: full name], an individual, with an address at [TO COMPLETE: address] (“Genobills”, “we”). By creating an account or using the Service you accept these Terms and ourPrivacy notice. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
2. What Genobills is and what it isn't
Genobills lets you manually log your accounts, income, expenses, budgets and goals, see summaries and insights about that information, and log transfers with other users you link with.
- It's not a bank or a financial institution. We don't receive, hold, transfer or manage money. “Transfers” between linked people are only records in the app: they don't move real money.
- We don't connect to your bank accounts. Everything in the app is what you entered or imported.
- We don't give advice. Summaries, charts, budgets and notices are informational tools based on your records; they are not financial, tax, accounting or investment advice. The decisions you make based on them are yours.
3. Who can use the Service
You must be at least 18 or, if you're between 13 and 17, have the consent of your parent or guardian, who accepts these Terms on your behalf and is responsible for supervising your use. Children under 13 may not use the Service.
4. Your account
- Give true information when creating your account and keep your email up to date: we use it to confirm your account and recover your password.
- Keep your password safe and don't share your account. You're responsible for what's done with it.
- If you think someone accessed your account without permission, change your password and let us know at the email in section 13.
5. Acceptable use
When using the Service you agree not to:
- Use it for illegal activities, including logging or hiding transactions involving illicit funds.
- Try to access other people's accounts or information, or breach the Service's security.
- Interfere with its operation, overload it or use automated means to extract information.
- Use linking with other people to bother or harass them.
- Copy, modify or redistribute the Service, except as the law expressly allows.
6. Your information
The information you enter is yours. You only give us permission to store, process and show it to you in order to provide the Service, as explained in the Privacy notice. You can export it from the app at any time.
You're responsible for the accuracy of what you enter. Balances, totals and insights are calculated from your records, so they may not match your bank's if your records are incomplete or contain errors.
7. Linked people
If you link with another person, they'll be able to see your name and the transfers logged between you, and those records will also appear in their information. Only link with people you trust. Either of you can unlink whenever you want.
8. Price
The Service is currently free. If we offer paid features in the future, we'll tell you their price and conditions first, and you'll only be charged if you expressly sign up for them.
9. Availability and changes to the Service
We work to keep the Service running continuously, but it may have interruptions due to maintenance, failures of our providers or causes beyond our control. We may add, change or remove features. If we remove an important feature or the whole Service, we'll give you reasonable notice so you can export your information.
10. Liability
The Service is offered as is and as available. To the extent the law allows, we're not responsible for losses or decisions arising from errors in the information you entered, from interruptions of the Service, or from your use of the summaries and insights. We recommend exporting your information regularly.
Nothing in these Terms limits the rights granted to you by Mexico's Federal Consumer Protection Law or the liabilities the law doesn't allow to be excluded.
11. Suspension and termination
You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from the app (Profile → Delete account). We may suspend or terminate an account that seriously breaches these Terms or is used for illegal activities; unless the law or the seriousness of the case prevents it, we'll let you know first and give you the chance to export your information.
12. Intellectual property
The Service, its design, code, brand and content (except your information) belong to us or are used with permission. We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable permission to use the Service under these Terms.
13. Contact
For questions, clarifications or complaints about the Service, write to us at[TO COMPLETE: contact email]. You can also go to Mexico's Federal Consumer Protection Agency (Profeco).
14. Changes to these Terms
If we change these Terms, we'll publish the new version on this page with its date. If the change is significant, we'll tell you in the app and ask you to accept it before you keep using the Service. If you don't accept it, you can export your information and delete your account.
15. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the federal laws of the United Mexican States. For any dispute, the parties submit to the competent courts of [TO COMPLETE: city and state], without prejudice to your right to go to Profeco or to the courts of your domicile where the law so provides.
